The Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) was established through an Act of the Parliament in 1960 to complement public authorities in humanitarian interventions with the mandate to prevent and alleviate human suffering at times of peace or conflict, and to support individuals and communities to respond effectively to emergencies, without any form of discrimination as to class, gender, race, political opinions or religion.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Branch Training and Resource Mobilisation Officer
Location: Imo
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provide timelyadvice and information on funding opportunities, requirements and procedures; collaborates in defining and implementing project funding strategies.
Work with the BranchSecretary to sure that excellence in resource mobilization remains top of the NRCS Branch agenda.
Document on a monthly basis, achievements of mobilization, success rates and challenges, and give reports to the HQ and Branch Governance.
Establish and maintain regularcontact with donorsand resource mobilization networks/groups in the respective State.
Identify partnership with institutions and government departments and donors in support of the NRCS Branch Activities
Training:
Be familiar with NigerianRed Cross firstaid training courses.
Ensure trainingand all relevantresources are setup and deliveredto a professional standard, meeting all first aid requirements.
Display thorough knowledge and application of NRCS rescueskills and abilityto teach said skills
Build effective relationships with clients to ensure effective outcomes in trainingdelivery
Ensure appropriate first aid trainingdelivery and assessment strategies are used to meet the needs of participants.
Perform cleaning tasks after every training class (such as cleaning mannequins and equipment)
With the support of the Health & Care Officer, provide for the health and safety of participants, including ensuring that all training and practice areas are free of hazards, and that materials and equipment are safe
Prepare and submitreport of every training conducted.
Qualifications and Experience
University Degree in Public Health or other relevant qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as First Aid Trainer
Relevant certificates in First Aid are preferable.

Ability to persuade, influence, negotiate, manage and sustain effective, successful strategic relationships both internally and externally
Proficiency in the use of MS Officetools
Fluency in writtenand spoken English
Desirable:
Good knowledge of the work of the Red Crossin Nigeria and the State
Experience in Programme design and management
Experience in Volunteer Management
Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills
Knowledge of project management, emergency and publichealth management, humanitarian relief issues, trends and goals aimed at preventing and alleviating human suffering.
Strong leadership, team building, conflict resolution and ability to deliver thesociety’s articulated vision for change.
Ability to initiate and manage changeand align programmes to the strategic plan.
Demonstrated ability to influence andresolve differences and conflicts.
