We are seeking a thorough, reliable, and experienced Housekeeper to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across all areas of the facility – including the event halls, guest suites, restrooms, corridors, and common areas.
The Housekeeper will play a critical role in ensuring that every guest and client experiences a clean, welcoming, and well-maintained environment at all times.
This role demands someone with a strong eye for detail, a proactive approach to housekeeping duties, and the ability to manage their responsibilities efficiently both during and between events.
Key Responsibilties
Carry out thorough daily cleaning and upkeep of all areas of the facility, including event halls, guest suites, restrooms, reception areas, corridors, and outdoor spaces, ensuring all areas meet the centre’s cleanliness and presentation standards at all times.
Prepare and turn over guest suites and accommodation rooms promptly between bookings, including changing bed linen, replenishing guest supplies and toiletries, and ensuring all room fittings, furniture, and fixtures are in good working order and properly presented.
Maintain restroom hygiene and cleanliness throughout the duration of all events, ensuring consumables (tissue, soap, hand sanitiser) are consistently stocked, and that restrooms are inspected and refreshed at regular intervals.
Support event set-up and post-event clean-up activities, working alongside the Facility Officer and cleaning team to prepare the event halls before events begin and restore all areas to their standard condition promptly after each event.
Inspect all cleaned areas before handover, identifying and reporting any maintenance issues, damaged items, or defective fixtures – such as broken fittings, faulty lighting, or plumbing concerns – to the Facility Officer or Event Centre Manager for prompt resolution.
Manage housekeeping supplies and consumables responsibly, maintaining accurate records of stock levels, raising timely requisitions for replenishment, and ensuring cleaning equipment is properly used, cleaned, and stored after each use.
Uphold the centre’s service standards and guest experience by maintaining a professional, courteous, and discreet presence at all times, responding promptly to guest requests or complaints related to housekeeping and escalating unresolved concerns appropriately.
Qualifications & Experience
A minimum of a secondary school certificate (SSCE/WAEC); a vocational qualification or certificate in Housekeeping or Hospitality is an added advantage.
2 - 3 years of experience in a housekeeping role within an event centre, hotel, guesthouse, or comparable hospitality environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemical usage, and hygiene standards across different surface types and room categories.
Ability to work efficiently within a team and independently manage a housekeeping schedule across a large facility.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills for stock management, reporting, and following written instructions.
