We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Inventory & E-Commerce Officer
Location: Lagos
Role Summary
The Inventory & E-Commerce Operations Officer is responsible for end-to-end inventory control across physical stores, warehouse, and digital sales channels.
The role ensures accurate stock visibility, availability, and integrity across the ERP system, Shopify eCommerce platform, and marketplace platforms such as Jumia and Konga.
The position requires a strong foundation in inventory management, stock control, and operational discipline, combined with sufficient technical aptitude to manage and maintain inventory data across digital platforms.
Maintain accurate inventory records across all stores and the central warehouse.
Plan and execute regular physical stock counts (cycle counts and full counts) at stores and warehouse locations.
Reconcile physical stock counts with ERP and eCommerce system records and investigate variances.
Ensure all stock movements (warehouse-to-store, store-to-store, returns, damages, adjustments) are properly documented, approved, and recorded in line with SOPs.
Support optimal stock availability across stores by coordinating inter-store and warehouse replenishments, with a focus on best sellers and fast-moving SKUs.
Monitor slow-moving, expired, or at-risk stock and escalate recommendations for transfers, promotions, or write-offs.
eCommerce & Digital Inventory Management:
Manage product inventory levels on the Shopify eCommerce platform, ensuring online stock accurately reflects physical availability.
Upload, update, and maintain stock quantities, SKUs, and product availability statuses on Shopify.
Ensure inventory synchronization between ERP, Shopify, and marketplace platforms.
Support inventory setup and management for marketplace platforms including Jumia and Konga, ensuring accurate stock feeds and availability.
Work closely with the Commercial Manager to prevent overselling, stockouts, and inventory mismatches across channels.
ERP & Systems Operations:
Upload and maintain accurate stock data within the ERP platform following stock counts and movements.
Ensure all inventory transactions are properly captured in the ERP system in line with established SOPs.
Support process improvements to strengthen inventory accuracy, audit readiness, and system integrity.
Assist in documenting and enforcing inventory-related SOPs and best practices.
Provide inventory insights to support sales planning, promotions, and replenishment decisions.
Support audits and management reviews by providing accurate inventory documentation and system records.
Core Competencies:
Strong understanding of inventory management principles, stock control, and reconciliation processes.
High level of attention to detail and process discipline.
Ability to work across multiple locations and coordinate with store teams and warehouse staff.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Technical & Systems Skills:
Comfort working with ERP systems (inventory modules in particular).
Practical experience or strong aptitude for managing inventory on eCommerce platforms, especially Shopify.
Ability to learn and manage marketplace inventory tools (e.g., Jumia, Konga backends).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets for inventory tracking and reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).
2–5 years’ experience in inventory management, stock control, or retail operations.
Experience working in a multi-store retail environment is a strong advantage.
Prior exposure to eCommerce or digital inventory systems is highly desirable.
Salary
N250,000 - N350,000 per month.
