Job Title: Legal / HR Coordinator
Location: Ogudu, Lagos

Job Description
This role is responsible for providing HR, administrative, and legal support to ensure the efficient operation of the HR, legal, and administrative functions of the organization.
Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate various MOUs, contracts, nondisclosures, and tender documents.
Handle statutory filings and regulatory submissions, and liaise with the Accounts department on tax compliance requirements.
Employee Relations:
Provide Human Resources (HR) policy guidance and interpretation.
Provide guidance through in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Policy Development and Implementation:
Frame policies in different fields (e.g., Human & Employee Rights, Corporate Social Responsibility, Code of Conduct and Ethics, etc.), review with management for approval, and enforce implementation and compliance.
HR Administration:
Track and monitor all statutory requirements, tax and pension remittance, ITF, HMO scheme, and liaise with appropriate agencies and bodies to ensure smooth relationships between the company, the communities, and the government.
Handle matters such as patents, copyright, trademark law, licensing, distribution, and trade secret projects.
Stay abreast of changes to legislation (laws and regulations) that directly affect our businesses and the specific industry, interpret them, and evaluate their impact.
Identify, manage, and mitigate legal risks by presenting clear recommendations and developing and implementing company policies and procedures.
Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide array of matters, including privacy, medical staff issues, HR policies, procedures, and compliance.
Oversee internal investigations related to HR issues and manage and resolve employment issues and disputes.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations.
Develop and implement HR-related legal strategies and initiatives.
Manage and maintain executives’ schedules and appointments.
Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
Prepare, proofread, and edit legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
Assist in legal research and analysis to support decision-making processes.
Organize and maintain legal files, contracts, and confidential information.
Handle workplace investigations, disciplinary procedures, and termination processes.
Maintain employee and workplace privacy.
Other Duties:
Carry out assigned duties for the company and sister companies as required.
Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Legal Officer or Assistant.
2 to 5 years of work experience.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of legal terminology and processes.
Legal Secretary certification is a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.).
Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
Proven experience in managing employment litigation.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
