The Program is a multi-year agricultural mechanization initiative designed to improve smallholder farmers’ access to affordable, small-scale mechanization services through technology-enabled solutions and youth-led enterprise models. The initiative engages young people aged 18–35, organized into cooperatives, to establish and manage sustainable mechanization service businesses that provide critical services to farmers within their communities.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Community Liaison Officer
Locations: Nasarawa (11 LGAs) and Kaduna State (12 LGAs)

Job Summary
The Community Liaison Officer (CLO) will support community-level implementation of the Program by serving as the primary link between the project, youth cooperatives, partners, and beneficiary communities.
The CLO will support cooperative strengthening, ensure continuity of mechanization service delivery, coordinate demonstration activities, and contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting processes, while working closely with the Project Associate and implementing partners to ensure effectiveness and sustainability.

Internal: Project Associate, MERL Team, State Project Staff
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement and Liaison:
Serve as the key interface between the Program and target communities
Support community sensitization and mobilization activities
Engage traditional leaders, community structures, and farmer groups to promote participation
Facilitate effective two-way communication between communities, cooperatives, and the project.
Youth Cooperative Strengthening:
Support youth-led cooperatives to improve governance, coordination, and operational effectiveness
Encourage regular meetings, proper record-keeping, and accountability
Promote ownership and sustainability of cooperative structures
Support cooperatives to deliver mechanization services effectively.
Mechanization Service Continuity:
Track service delivery activities within assigned communities
Identify operational challenges and escalate appropriately
Support demand generation and farmer outreach initiatives.
Demonstration and Demand Generation Support:
Support planning and execution of field demonstration activities
Mobilize farmers and stakeholders to participate
Assist with documentation of attendance, outcomes, and lessons learned.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MERL):
Support routine field-level data collection in line with program frameworks
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of data
Track key indicators including youth participation, service usage, and farmer reach
Maintain data quality and confidentiality standards.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports
Document success stories, challenges, lessons learned, and community feedback
Support knowledge management and learning processes.
Other Responsibilities:
Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor in support of program objectives.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Cooperative Management, Rural Development, Social Sciences, or related fields
1–2 years of relevant experience in agriculture, youth development, or development programs
Must reside within the LGA of implementation and be willing to travel within assigned communities.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
Experience working with youth groups or cooperatives
Basic understanding of small-scale agricultural mechanization
Experience in community mobilization and stakeholder engagement
Ability to collect accurate field data and prepare reports
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to speak Hausa is an added advantage.
