Abdulrasaq Abubakar Toyin University (AATU) is located in a beautiful Semi-urban Area of Oke-Ogba, Ganmo near llorin, Kwara State. It was licensed alongside ten other Private Universities in April, 2025 to offer 14 Take-off degree programmes, with first-semester classes that started in September / October 2025 on its state-of-the-art, fully IT - wired campus. Job Title: University Librarian

Location: Ganmo, Kwara

About the Role

• The University Librarian is a Principal Officer and the Academic and Professional Head of the University Library.
• He/she is directly responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and management of the University library.
• He/she is responsible for the formulation and execution of policy direction of the library for the growth of its collection and services to support teaching, learning, research, and community services in the University.
• He/she is expected to demonstrate a good ICT proficiency for managing a 21st Century University Library.

Requirements for the Candidate
The candidate must possess the following qualification and experience:

• A Master's Degree and Ph.D degree in Library and Information Science (LIS) or a related discipline from a recognised institution;
• Certification by the Librarians' Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN);
• Paid-up membership of Nigeria Library Association (NLA);
• A minimum of fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience in an institution of higher learning;
• Evidence of continuous research and publications in reputable LIS journals;
• Demonstrable evidence of management and leadership skills;
• Evidence of ICT competency and skills, especially with library technologies;
• A high level of integrity and morality is required to meet the vision and mission of the University; and
• Must not be more than sixty (60) years old at the time of resumption of duty.

Tenure of Service: 

• The University Librarian shall hold office for a single term of five (5) years.

Conditions of Service
AATU offers conditions of service comparable with what obtains in similar private Universities of its standing, as well as those in the Nigeria Public University system, and as may be determined by Council from time to time.
