We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Backend Developer

Location: Maryland, Lagos

Role Overview

• As a Backend Developer, the suitable candidate will be required to demonstrate strong proficiency in Go (GoLang) and JavaScript, and play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining the core backend infrastructure that powers our systems and applications across our flagship brands — Trade Lenda, One Kiosk, and its subsidiaries.
• He/She will work closely with the CTO to support system architecture decisions, ensure scalability and performance, and provide technical guidance to the development team where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach junior developers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the architectural design of software systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies and frameworks to meet project requirements.
• Conduct regular code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and the implementation of best practices.
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to develop and execute comprehensive test plans.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver optimal solutions.
• Communicate effectively with team members and project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, providing timely support to maintain system integrity.
• Participate in on-call rotations for critical production issues.
• Writing reports & Conducting development tests.
• Conceiving and implementing concepts, guidelines, and strategies in various creative projects
• Periodically reviewing and advising the Tech Line Management on customer insights, market, and industry trends.
• Mentoring, coaching, and providing staff leadership as well as inspiration to drive change and build team spirit.

Requirements

• B.Sc Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, and its relevant courses with 2 - 3 years of experience.
• Proficiency in Go (Golang), Node.js, Java, or Python
• Experience designing and building RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
• Strong understanding of application architecture and system design
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and session management
• Experience building scalable, secure backend services
• Ability to translate UI/UX designs into clean, functional interfaces
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs and handling async operations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Reporting Line:

• This role reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) / Head of the Tech Unit.

Salary
N250,000 - N300,000 Monthly.
