Job Title: Head of Surveyor

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Surveyor to lead and oversee all surveying operations within the organization.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing survey teams, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of survey data, and providing strategic direction on land, property, and geospatial matters.
• This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a deep understanding of regulatory and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, and manage all surveying activities including land, cadastral, engineering, and construction surveys.
• Develop and implement survey strategies, methodologies, and work plans in line with organizational goals.
• Supervise, mentor, and coordinate surveyors, field crews, and technical staff to ensure efficiency and high-quality output.
• Oversee field survey operations, ensuring accurate data collection, measurements, and proper documentation.
• Review, validate, and approve survey data, drawings, maps, and technical reports before submission.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry standards, and professional guidelines.
• Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, clients, and other stakeholders on survey-related matters.
• Provide expert advice on land acquisition, boundary disputes, property delineation, and valuation support.
• Manage and maintain surveying equipment, tools, and software, ensuring optimal functionality and calibration.
• Implement modern surveying technologies such as GIS, GPS, Total Station, and drone mapping where applicable.
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Establish and enforce quality control procedures for all survey projects.
• Prepare detailed reports, project updates, and technical documentation for management and clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in surveying, Geomatics, Geoinformatics, or a related field.
• 6–10 years of progressive experience in surveying, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Professional certification or registration with relevant bodies (e.g., SURCON) is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of land laws, cadastral systems, and surveying regulations in Nigeria.
• Proficiency in the use of surveying equipment (Total Station, GPS, Levels) and software (AutoCAD, GIS tools).
• Demonstrated experience in managing complex survey projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professionalism.

Salary
N500,000 - N550,000 monthly.
