ECWA Hospital, Egbe, a division of ECWA (Evangelical Church Winning All), is a rural teaching hospital established in 1952 and located in Egbe, Kogi State, Nigeria. The hospital serves a 100-mile radius of villages and small towns in a poor area. It is a 110-bed hospital on a 32-acre complex that includes 5 wards for patients, 3 Operating rooms, a Maternity ward, an Under-fives clinic, an Eye care center, an HIV/AIDs counseling center, a Physiotherapy clinic, and a dental clinic. The hospital runs a 24-hour emergency and intensive care unit. The hospital has an X-ray department with digital radiology including portable X-ray, outpatient and bedside ultrasound services, electrocardiography, gastroscopy, and HSG.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Security Practitioner

Location: Egbe, Kogi

Job Description

• Reporting to the Head of Department Security, the Security Practitioner will work closely with the Chief Security of the Hospital to carry out the duties noted below.

Responsibilities Include

• Keep an inventory of all property in the area under guard
• Track all movements and transactions in the institution, including patients, staff, students, and visitors
• Monitor the movement of suspected or strange individuals and keep unwanted visitors out of the complex; May search employees, patients, or carriers if need be
• Report all suspicious persons or activities to the Chief Security
• Report all security or safety hazards to the Chief Security
• Maintain a clean and neat appearance, wear their uniform properly while on duty
• Report to his/her post on time and remain alert while at work
• Remain at his/her post until relieved by another security guard
• Be polite to the clients and follow special orders given

Qualifications

• SSCE or any higher degree
• Must do exercises every week
• Attend refresher courses as selected
• Read books relevant to the profession
• Desist from conversations, story-telling, and idle talking
• Growing Christian
• Long term commitment to serve
• Mission minded
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to details
• Ability to work diligently under pressure and maintain confidentiality
• Ability to communicate in Yoruba is an asset.

Experience:

• Security Practitioners with experience in the public or private sector of not less than 5 years or Ex-servicemen with practical knowledge in the operational field will be an added advantage
