Job Title: Funds Manager

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Summary

• We are an Assets Management Company looking to hire a Funds Manager.
• The Funds Manager will be responsible for the overall management and performance of a portfolio of investment funds.
• This includes developing and implementing investment strategies, conducting research, analyzing financial markets, and making investment decisions to achieve the fund's objectives.
• The Funds Manager will work to maximize returns while managing risk and adhering to regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Investment Strategy and Management:

• Develop and implement investment strategies aligned with fund objectives, risk tolerance, and investment guidelines.
• Manage the day-to-day investment activities of the fund, including buying and selling securities.
• Monitor portfolio performance and make adjustments to the portfolio as needed to meet investment goals.
• Conduct research on financial markets, economic trends, and investment opportunities.
• Analyze financial statements, industry data, and other information to make informed investment decisions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.

Portfolio Construction and Risk Management:

• Construct and maintain diversified portfolios to manage risk and achieve optimal returns.
• Monitor and manage portfolio risk, including market risk, credit risk, and liquidity risk.
• Use risk management tools and techniques to assess and mitigate potential risks.
• Ensure that the portfolio is in line with the fund's investment mandate and risk profile.

Performance Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare and present performance reports to the investment committee, and other stakeholders.
• Analyze portfolio performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Provide regular updates on market conditions, investment strategies, and portfolio performance.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding fund performance and investment strategy.

Compliance and Regulatory:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of all investment activities and transactions.
• Participate in audits and regulatory examinations as needed.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

• May supervise and mentor junior investment professionals.
• Collaborate with other members of the investment team, including analysts and traders.
• Participate in investment committee meetings and contribute to investment discussions.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience in Funds Management from an Asset Management company is very key. Applicants must have 2-5 years’ experience in the field

• Strong understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and portfolio management techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
