Job Title: AGM / Chief Operating Officer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Summary

• The AGM/COO is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the operational functions of the insurance broking business, including policy administration, underwriting support, revenue drive, claims processing, customer service, office administration, and compliance.
• The role ensures operational efficiency, regulatory adherence, service excellence, and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily insurance operations, including policy issuance, renewals, endorsements, claims processing. revenue drive, and general office administration,
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of underwriting and claims documentation.
• Develop and implement operational policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Monitor service delivery standards to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry guidelines (e.g., NAICOM, and NCRIB regulations in Nigeria).
• Coordinate with underwriting, claims, finance, and sales teams to ensure seamless workflow.
• Track operational KPIs such as turnaround time (TAT), claims ratio, policy retention rate, and service efficiency.
• Manage operational budgets and control costs effectively.
• Identify process gaps and implement automation or efficiency improvements.
• Lead, train, and evaluate operations staff to enhance performance.
• Prepare operational and performance reports for executive management.

Job Specification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CIIN (Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria) or equivalent is a necessity.
• MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• Minimum of 10–12 years of experience in insurance marketing or business development.
• At least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role within general insurance.
• Strong understanding of underwriting processes, claims management, and policy administration.
