We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Traditional Trade Key Account Executive

Locations:  Abuja, Port Harcourt - Rivers and Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Industry: FMCG (Food Manufacturing & Packaging)

Job Summary

  • The Traditional Trade Key Account Executive will be responsible for recruiting, managing, and developing a network of Key Distributors (KDs) across assigned regions.
  • The role focuses on driving distribution penetration, expanding market reach, and maximizing volume sales across the traditional trade (open market) channel.

Key Responsibilities
Distributor Recruitment & Development:

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard financially capable and structured Key Distributors in strategic locations
  • Build a strong and sustainable distribution network across urban and semi-urban markets

Partnership & Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors, positioning the company as a strategic partner
  • Provide ongoing support to ensure distributor growth and alignment with company objectives

Sales Performance & Target Achievement:

  • Drive primary sales (company to distributor) and support secondary sales (distributor to market)
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets

Market Penetration & Expansion:

  • Expand product availability from open markets to retail outlets, neighborhood stores, and specialty outlets
  • Ensure deep market coverage and increased brand visibility

Stock & Inventory Management:

  • Monitor distributor stock levels to prevent stock-outs and overstocking
  • Track and report distributor inventory and order patterns

Trade Marketing & Activations:

  • Execute in-market promotions, sampling activities, and merchandising initiatives
  • Drive product awareness and consumer adoption through field activations

Market Intelligence & Reporting:

  • Provide insights on competitor activities, pricing trends, and market dynamics
  • Gather feedback from distributors and customers to inform business decisions

Distributor Performance Management:

  • Conduct regular performance reviews with distributors
  • Identify gaps and implement corrective actions to improve performance

Product Range Selling:

  • Ensure distributors actively promote and stock the full range of Elkris products

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Revenue: Achievement of sales volume and value targets
  • Coverage: Active and effective distributor count; consistency in distributor engagement
  • Outlet Coverage: Number of active wholesalers and retailers serviced
  • New Distributor Acquisition: Number of new high-potential KDs onboarded
  • Product Mix: Full range selling across all product lines

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in FMCG sales, specifically within the traditional trade (open market) channel
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian market geography and distribution networks
  • Proven ability to manage multiple distributors and drive sales performance
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively
