Job Title: Head of Procurement

Job Specification
We are looking for a results-driven Head of Procurement to lead our sourcing and supply chain operations.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing suppliers, optimizing procurement processes, and driving cost efficiencies.
You will champion strategic procurement initiatives, support organizational growth, and foster strong collaboration across teams, while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization’s goals.
Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers of medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and other healthcare supplies.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service-level agreements to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical teams to forecast supply needs accurately.
Ensure timely procurement of essential medicines, consumables, and equipment to avoid stockouts.
Implement inventory control measures to reduce wastage, pilferage, and expiry of medical supplies.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with Nigerian healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
Maintain proper documentation for auditing, reporting, and regulatory inspections.
Develop procurement budgets and monitor expenditure to optimize cost-efficiency.
Lead, mentor, and manage the procurement team to achieve operational excellence.
Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, counterfeit products, or vendor failures.
Prepare regular reports on procurement performance, savings, supplier performance, and compliance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Logistics, or a related field and a Master’s degree (MBA or MSc) in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration will be an added advantage.
Minimum 5–10 years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Nigerian Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management (NIPSM) certifications (e.g., MCIPS, MCPM) are highly valued.
International certifications such as: CIPS, CPIM, CSCP or other relevant certifications in healthcare or project management (e.g., PMP) can be an advantage.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of procurement laws and regulations in Nigeria, including NAFDAC, FMH, and local import/export requirements.
Excellent negotiation, leadership, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and inventory management tools.
Ability to manage cross-functional teams and ensure compliance with organizational policies and quality standards.
Salary
N350,000 - N550,000 monthly.
