The Nigerian Army is the largest component of the Nigerian Armed Forces, and is responsible for land warfare operations. It is governed by the Nigerian Army Council.

Basic Entry Requirements
Applicant must be single, Nigerian citizen by birth, and must possess
National Identity Card (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN) Slip.
The name and date of birth on the NIN must correspond with those on the BVN and all other credentials.
Applicant must be medically, physically and psychologically fit in accordance with Nigerian Army Standard.
Applicant must have no criminal conviction by any court of competent jurisdiction.
Applicant must possess at least a minimum of 4 passes, including English Language, in not more than two sittings in WASSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB/NBAIS.
In addition to the above qualifications, those applying as tradesmen/women must also possess a TRADE TEST/CITY AND GUILD CERTIFICATE.
Applicant must possess a valid birth Certificate endorsed by the National Population Commission, Hospital or local government council. Age declaration endorsed by a competent court can also suffice.
Applicant must not be less than 18 and 22 years for non-tradesmen and women, while tradesmen and women must not be more than 26 years by 30th June 2026.
Applicant must not be less than 1.68 metres and 1.65 metres tall for males and females candidates respectively.
Applicants must apply using their State of Origin and not State of Residence.
Applicant must possess a valid Certificate of State of Origin.

Candidates are to note that there will be no Pre-Selection Computer Based Test.
No Special centre for recruitment.
All screening of potential recruits will be conducted at the candidates' respective state of origin.
Candidates are not to bring electronic or recording devices to the venue of the State Recruitment Exercise.
Tattoo, piercing, or inscription on any part of the body other than tribal marks are not allowed.
Multiple piercings of the ears for females are not allowed.
Candidates must tender all original copies of their credentials, including (Primary and Secondary Certificates).
Candidates must not belong to any cult/secret society/fraternity.
A candidate will be withdraw from training if found to have forged or falsified his/her documents.
Candidates are advised in their own interest not to give any form of gratification or inducement to any person or group of persons to assist them in the recruitment exercise.
