Job Title: Draughtsman / CAD Technician

About the Role

• We are seeking a skilled Draughtsman / CAD Technician with solid experience in the steel or heavy industrial sector.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, layouts, and design documents that support engineering, maintenance, and production teams within our facility in Sabon Wuse.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate technical drawings and 2D/3D models using CAD software.
• Develop fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and modification sketches for steel plant equipment.
• Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and design instructions.
• Work closely with mechanical and production engineers to update and revise technical documentation.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant standards, tolerances, and project requirements.
• Maintain an organized library of drawings, revisions, and technical records.
• Assist in site measurements, inspections, and documentation as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design and documentation processes.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–4 years of drafting experience in the steel industry or heavy industrial environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other CAD design tools.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, mechanical components, and fabrication methods.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong technical documentation skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Technical Drawing, or related field.
• Experience working with steel plant equipment such as rolling mills, furnaces, or casting units.
• Knowledge of industry standards (ISO, ASME, etc.).
• Familiarity with project drafting for industrial maintenance and upgrades.
