The Facility Manager will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and continuously improving the company’s facilities, infrastructure, and factory environment to ensure they are safe, functional, efficient, and compliant with regulatory standards.
The role is critical to supporting uninterrupted manufacturing operations and requires hands-on experience managing facilities within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Oversee daily facility and factory operations, ensuring all building systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.) function optimally.
Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance schedules suitable for a manufacturing environment.
Coordinate and supervise repairs, refurbishments, and facility upgrades with minimal disruption to production activities.
Manage utilities usage and drive energy efficiency initiatives across factory locations.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
Ensure facilities comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations applicable to manufacturing operations.
Implement and enforce workplace safety programs, emergency preparedness, and response procedures.
Collaborate with the HSE team to conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments within factory premises.
Vendor & Contractor Management:
Source, select, negotiate with, and manage external service providers and contractors (maintenance, cleaning, utilities, etc.).
Monitor vendor performance to ensure adherence to agreed service levels, safety standards, and timelines.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
Prepare, manage, and track facility and maintenance budgets.
Control operational costs while maintaining high facility standards required for manufacturing operations.
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements.
Space & Asset Management:
Plan and optimize factory and office layouts to support production efficiency and operational needs.
Maintain accurate asset registers for plant equipment, furniture, tools, and facility-related assets.
Security & Access Control:
Work closely with the security team to ensure the physical security of factory premises, assets, and personnel.
Manage access control systems, CCTV, and other surveillance equipment.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of facility operations, contracts, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation.
Prepare and submit periodic facility performance reports to management.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Reduction in facility and production downtime.
Timely resolution of maintenance requests.
Compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Vendor performance and service quality ratings.
Measurable cost savings without compromising operational efficiency.
Key Requirements
Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as NIM, Certified Facility Manager (CFM), NEBOSH, or similar are an added advantage.
Experience:
8–10 years’ relevant experience in facility management within a manufacturing or industrial environment is mandatory.
Demonstrated experience managing factory facilities, utilities, contractors, and maintenance operations.
Proven track record in budget management, vendor coordination, and multi-site facility oversight.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical knowledge of building systems and factory maintenance best practices.
Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills.
Strong negotiation, vendor management, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and facility management systems.
Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to manufacturing operations.
