They are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Factory Manager / Plant Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • To establish and lead the precast concrete manufacturing operations, transforming existing
  • equipment assets (legacy equipment) into a quality-focused production facility. The Factory
  • Manager will implement ISO 9001-aligned processes, achieve SON/NIS certifications,
  • integrate Terra Pave technology, and build a team capable of delivering "zero-damage, guaranteed" products to market.
  • This role is critical to client's value proposition of reliability and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commission and optimize existing equipment
  • Implement phased refurbishment program based on technical audit findings
  • Establish production schedules for all product lines:
  • Electric poles (8m, 10m, 12m)
  • Culverts (600-1500mm)
  • Kerbs and interlocking stones
  • Sandcrete blocks
  • Gutters and drainage elements
  • Achieve target capacity utilization
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodology.

Quality Management System:

  • Establish and lead QC laboratory with testing protocols
  • Implement "zero tolerance" for sub-standard curing and production
  • Achieve SON/NIS certification for electric poles as scheduled
  • Implement ISO 9001:2015-aligned quality management system
  • Maintain product rejection rate below 2%
  • Establish traceability system for all production batches
  • Conduct regular quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Technical & Maintenance Management:

  • Oversee implementation of technical audit recommendations
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance program
  • Manage equipment refurbishment and upgrade projects
  • Maintain equipment history and performance records
  • Ensure availability of critical spare parts
  • Integrate Terra Pave technology into production processes
  • Manage energy efficiency and utility consumption

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Recruit and train production team
  • Implement safety culture with zero lost-time injury target
  • Establish shift patterns and production supervision structure
  • Develop skills matrix and training programs for all operators
  • Foster "quality first" culture throughout operations
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and team meetings
  • Ensure proper staffing levels for all production areas.

Cost Management & Efficiency:

  • Achieve COGS reduction
  • Optimize raw material usage (cement, aggregates, steel)
  • Reduce energy consumption through efficient operations
  • Minimize waste and implement recycling of rejected concrete
  • Monitor and control production costs against budget
  • Implement inventory management for raw materials and finished goods
  • Report monthly on production KPIs and cost variances.

Professional Qualifications
Essential:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Professional Certification: COREN registration MANDATORY; NSE membership
  • preferred
  • Experience: 7-10 years in manufacturing management, with minimum 3 years in precast concrete or related construction materials industry
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of concrete technology, mix design, curing processes, and quality testing
  • Quality Systems: Experience implementing ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems
  • Maintenance Management: Proven experience with equipment maintenance  andreliability programs
  • Safety Leadership: NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar safety certification
  • Equipment Knowledge: Experience with batch plants, molds, vibrating tables,
  • curing chambers
  • Language: Fluent English essential for team communication.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience with advanced concrete technologies
  • Background in startup or turnaround manufacturing operations
    Knowledge of SON/NIS certification processes for concrete products
  • Experience with electric pole production and NEMSA requirements
  • Network within Nigerian construction materials industry
  • Experience with automated or semi-automated production systems
