Job Title: Head of Marketing & Communications

Reports to: Managing Director (MD)
Role Purpose
The Head of Marketing & Communications provides strategic leadership for brand, marketing, communications, and customer engagement across the company's supermarket and QSR businesses in Nigeria.
The role is accountable for driving revenue growth, strengthening brand trust, enhancing customer experience, and supporting the company's ESG commitments, while working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team.
Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies aligned with annual revenue and expansion targets.
Translate business objectives into measurable marketing and growth initiatives.
Lead annual marketing planning and budget management across all outlets.
Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to the MD and Executive Team.
Brand & Reputation Management:
Own and manage brand positioning for supermarket and QSR formats across Nigeria.
Ensure brand consistency across stores, digital platforms, and communications.
Oversee promotions, campaigns, and store activations to increase footfall and basket size.
Protect corporate reputation through proactive communications and crisis management.
Customer Experience & Engagement:
Drive customer-centric strategies to improve in-store and QSR experience.
Oversee customer feedback systems includingCSAT, complaints, and service recovery.
Collaborate with Operations to address customer pain points and improve service delivery.
Lead loyalty programs, promotions, and retention initiatives.
Marketing Communications, Media & PR:
Manage all external communications, advertising, media relations, and public affairs.
Ensure compliance withAdvertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON)guidelines.
Oversee content for social media, websites, in-store signage, and promotional materials.
Act as a key communications advisor to the MD.
Digital & Performance Marketing:
Lead digital marketing, social media, online advertising, and CRM initiatives.
Track and optimize campaign ROI, conversion rates, and customer acquisition cost.
Support online ordering, delivery platforms, and digital growth where applicable.
Ensure compliance withNigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) in customer data usage.
ESG & Responsible Marketing
Integrate ESG principles into marketing and communications strategies.
Ensure responsible advertising, inclusive messaging, and ethical promotions.
Support ESG reporting by communicating sustainability initiatives and community impact.
Partner with HR and ESG teams on employer branding, DEI messaging, and community engagement.
Internal Communications:
Lead internal communications to engage employees across all locations.
Support change management, leadership messaging, and culture-building initiatives.
Collaborate with HR on staff engagement and internal campaigns.
Budget, Governance & Vendor Management:
Manage marketing budgets with strong cost control and ROI focus.
Oversee agencies, media buyers, printers, and digital vendors.
Ensure procurement and contracting comply with internal governance standards.
Team Leadership:
Build and lead a high-performing marketing and communications team.
Set clear objectives, KPIs, and development plans.
Foster a results-driven, collaborative, and ethical work culture.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related discipline with 7–10 years' experiencein marketing, preferably inretail, FMCG, or QSR
Master's Degree (MBA) or professional certification is an advantage
Proven leadership experience managing teams and agencies
Strong understanding of Nigerian consumer behavior and retail landscape
