Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo was established in October, 1977 with the sole mandate of training teachers for special needs education at the Primary and Secondary levels of education. The College also offers full-time, sandwich and part-time Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes, Pre-NCE and degree programmes (in affiliation with Universities).

Job Title: Director of Medical Services

Job Summary
Take charge and be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Medical Centre.
Ensure quality patient care.
Be responsible to the provost for the smooth running of the medical centre.
Advise on government healthcare policies as appertaining to the college.
Provide professional advisory on procurement and deployment of medications and equipments.
Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the provost.
Qualifications / Requirements
MBBS and registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, with 18 years post qualification cognate experience and post graduate medical qualifications in medicine.
Full registration and passing the Part Fellowship of the National Post Graduate Medical College of Nigeria or its equivalent in any relevant area of specialization.
Valid Medical practice license.
Candidates must have been a Consultant Specialist /. Chief Medical Officer for a minimum of five (5) years preferably in a public tertiary educational institution.
Be proficient in ICT with capacity to deploy applications and packages relevant to medical service delivery.
Possess sufficient evidence of continuous attendance of mandatory professional development.
Persons who have been or are presently Director of Medical Services need not apply.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate must:
Possess pleasant personality with high level of integrity and ethical standard
Have strong leadership, exceptional communication, problem-solving, cnical risk management skills, with a deep understanding of healthcare regulations, standards and compliance requirements.
Be able to build collaboration, be team-spirited and have drive for uncommon result delivery.
Demonstrate high emotional intelligence and have a deep knowledge of psychology of patient, particularly students, in tertiary educational institutions.
Terms of Appointment
The appointment shall be for a single term of five (5) years commencing from the day of assumption of duty and no more, while the candidate should not be more than fifty-nine (59) years old as at the date of assumption of duty.
The salary attached is as applicable to medical officers in the Federal Public Service. Other Conditions are as congtained in the Terms and Conditions of Service for Colleges of Education, and as may be amended from time-to-time.
