Job Title: Stamper Operator (C-B)

Job Purpose
Why does the job exist?

  • Sets up and Operates Stamper Machine and ensure that it’s effectively utilised.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Any requirement for organizing & planning including own work and the allocation of resources
  • Typical decisions made and if they are advisory or directly responsible for the outcome
  • To work with the Shift supervisor continually to improve plant performance while adhering to legislative and company standards.
  • To work closely as a team with other shift-based leaders to prioritise shift activity and deliver plant targets
  • Monitors Business Unit area performance through Short Interval Control; daily and weekly OEE tracker, identification of the 3 top losses and facilitate review of same.
  • Completion and use of what went well, what went wrong and how we can work differently as well as adherence to agreed standards.
  • Facilitate effective problem solving through agreed Lean Manufacturing techniques and generate Containments and Counter measures.
  • Good knowledge of how to identify areas for improvement (Process, skills, knowledge, attitude, machine etc)
  • To work with the production manager continually to improve plant performance while adhering to legislative and company standards
  • To work with the maintenance manager doing LLF and PPM to continually improve machine availability
  • Elimination/Reduction of downtime due to machine break down
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.

  • Select and install machine components such as dies, according to specifications, using hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Adjust machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, and temperatures, and amounts, dimensions, and flow of materials.
  • Ensure compliance to all Business Unit SOP’s and SOC’s (Standard Operating Conditions) and that all operations comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and provisions.
  • Participating in the run-off and stock count activities.
  • Supporting in the washing of the plant floor and other housekeeping activities.
  • Documenting all his operations as it’s required and necessary.
  • Performing other tasks and activities as could be delegated by his supervisor.
  • Ensure investigation and correction of deviations in process behaviour, escalate issues to get prompt attention whenever necessary.
  • Understands roles and responsibilities and the importance of conformity with the EMS requirements.
  • Implements and complies with EMS requirements relating to environmental aspects and impacts and other policies, procedures and/or regulations applicable to assigned jobs.

Internal And External Relationships:

  • To work with other staff continually to improve performance while adhering to legislative and company standards.
  • To work closely as a team with the Line Manager and other leaders as to deliver set objectives
  • Identify the most significant ones
  • Attach a preferred suppliers list if available
  • Detail which networks the jobholder will be part of e.g., finance, category
  • Production Mgr., Shift Manager,
  • Technician, Craft-men,
  • Production Workers, Etc.

  • To be aware of the hazards in the workplace within his control, and the control measures to reduce the risk associated with those hazards.
  • Achieve 85% of action closure arising from monthly HSE inspection.
  • Achieve 95% compliance with behaviour-based safety (BBS) walk around.

Environmental Management System (EMS) Objectives:
Key Activities:

  • Understand roles and responsibilities and the importance of conformity with the EMS requirements.
  • Implements and complies with EMS requirements relating to environmental aspects and impacts and other policies, procedures and /or regulations applicable to assigned jobs.

Quality And Plan Compliance Delivery - GMP:
Key Activities:

  • Ensure that manufacturing operation meets stipulated GMP

Key Accountability:

  • To have a good knowledge of GMP requirements and application on site in line with GMP standard (PZC GMP standard/NAFDAC requirements)

Quality Management System (QMS) Objectives: (QMS):

  • To ensure the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) and improve on the system.

Required Qualifications

  • ND / NABTEB in Engineering Related Discipline
  • Minimum of 1 year work experience in a similar position
  • Sound Knowledge of Engineering Practices
  • Software Knowledge
  • Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Ability to withstand stress and work under pressure.
