Job Title: Assistant Manager – Export Finance

Location: Lagos

Reporting Line: Export Finance Manager / Head of Trade Finance

Job Summary

• The Assistant Manager – Export Finance will play a critical role in managing and executing the company’s export finance operations.
• The role requires a highly experienced professional with strong technical knowledge of export trade finance instruments, regulatory compliance, and hands-on expertise in SAP (Finance & Trade modules).
• The successful candidate will ensure seamless export transactions, optimal working capital utilization, and full compliance with local and international trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Export Finance & Trade Operations:

• Manage end-to-end export finance processes including Letters of Credit (LCs), Bills for Collection, Export Loans, Preand Post Shipment Finance.
• Structure and monitor export financing facilities to optimize cash flow and working capital.
• Prepare, review, and negotiate export documentation in line with UCP 600, Incoterms, and international banking standards.

SAP & Financial Controls:

• Drive export finance transactions and reporting within SAP (FI, Treasury, Trade Finance or related modules).
• Ensure accurate posting, reconciliation, and monitoring of export-related transactions in SAP.
• Support automation and process improvements within SAP for export finance activities.
• Collaborate with IT and Finance teams on system enhancements and controls.

Compliance & Risk Management:

• Ensure full compliance with CBN, NCS, NEPC, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
• Monitor foreign exchange exposure and support hedging strategies where applicable.

Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, or a related field.
• Professional certifications (ICAN, ACCA, CFA, CITF) are a strong advantage.

Experience:

• 8 - 12 years of strong, hands-on experience in Export Finance / Trade Finance, preferably within FMCG, manufacturing, commodities, or multinational environments.
• Proven track record of managing complex export finance transactions at a senior operational level.

Technical Skills:

• Advanced SAP experience (mandatory), especially in finance, treasury, or trade-related modules.
• Strong financial analysis, reconciliation, and reporting skills.

Competencies:

• High attention to detail and strong risk awareness.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Salary Range
