We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Electro Technical Officer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type:  Full-time

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain filling & monitor all maintenance reports for electronics equipment from vessels.
• Verify with vessel of any abnormalities noted and report to Technical Manager, General Manager for further action.
• Review & improve on ship’s specific maintenance /testing plan with consultation from Technical Manager
• To carry out periodic inspections on board vessels to verify on maintenance plan & assess conditions of electronics, instrumentation & alarm system
• To conduct on board familiarization and training for all Electricians and Technicians onboard.
• Planning of refits, major repairs, modifications, installations and surveys, whilst maintaining the electrical, electronic and instrumentation planned maintenance including all electrical and electronics safety equipment
• Monitor repair of electronics equipment ashore and update Technical Manager, General Manager on progress
•  Trouble shoot electrical and electronics problems on board and Investigate causes of failure of electronics equipment onboard & report to Technical Manager or
• General Manager with proposal for preventive/corrective measures.
• Assist Technical Manager or General Manager to monitor & control repair costs & budget relating to electronics system onboard.
• Other special tasks and projects as per the General Manager and Technical Manager instructions
• Identifying and accepting electronics engineering spares from vendors.
• Regularly review and update risk assessments, ensuring that the correct assessment prior to the commencement of each task, and also ensure adherence to company safety policies.

Educational Qualifications, Certifications and Experience
Educational Qualifications:

• Minimum of HND or Valid Equal Training Certification in Electrical and Electronic or Instrumentation Engineering
• ETO licence is an added advantage
• Membership of relevant professional bodies would be an added advantage.

Experience:

• 3-5 years’ work experience.

Competencies:

• Proficiency in performing Load Analyses.
• Proficiency in performing Short Circuit Analyses and insulation resistance
• Proficiency in performing Protection Coordination Studies.
• Use of Technical, Electrical Line Diagrams,
• Lighting Arrangement drawings, Cable
• Routing Arrangements, etc
• Interpretation of Technical/Electrical and Instrumentation Diagrams
• Trouble shooting and fault tracing of electrical and electronics equipment
• Communication (Oral and Written)
• Document Management
• Attention to detail
• QHSE Compliance
• Initiative / Judgement
• Analytical Thinking
