We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Sign Language Health Instructor

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: One Month, Contract

Job Summary

• We are seeking a dedicated Sign Language Health Instructor to deliver health education and wellness training using sign language.
• The ideal candidate will facilitate courses, improve health literacy, and ensure accessibility for deaf and hard-of-hearing participants. Requires fluency in ASL/BSL and a health background.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach basic health education topics using sign language (e.g., hygiene, nutrition, disease prevention).
• Develop and adapt lesson plans suitable for learners with varying levels of sign language proficiency.
• Facilitate interactive and engaging training sessions.
• Assess participants’ understanding and provide feedback to improve learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with program coordinators to ensure effective delivery of training objectives.
• Maintain records of attendance, progress, and training activities.
• Promote awareness of health issues within the deaf and hard-of-hearing community.

Requirements

• Proficiency in sign language (e.g., Nigerian Sign Language or equivalent).
• Background in health education, nursing, public health, or a related field is an advantage.
• Previous teaching or training experience, especially with individuals with hearing impairments.
• Ability to deliver clear, engaging, and culturally sensitive instruction.
• Must be available for the full one-month contract period.

Salary
 N60,000 monthly.
