Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment to the position of Executive Secretary of ACCOBIN. The Association is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated person who has the capability, energy, and drive to deliver on its mandate.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
The candidate shall have the maturity, experience, and attitude necessary to provide excellent leadership. The ACCOBIN is keen to fill the position with an individual who has excellent people skills, track records, and proven institutional development testimony. The successful candidate will also have strong administrative and digital skills with computer systems proficiency.
The Executive Secretary is to provide leadership and coordinate all activities of the ACCOBIN Secretariat in accordance with its enabling Law, Regulations and Rules, and its Strategic Plan, as well as implementing decisions of the Executive Committee of ACCOBIN.
Enhance ACCOBIN’s advocacy role and stakeholder engagement across regulators, law enforcement agencies and financial institutions and all tiers of the economy.
Oversee development and widespread dissemination of regulations for the practice of the profession, and enforcement of licensing regime.
Drive execution of ACCOBIN’s strategic and operational plans, and direct daily administrative tasks of the Secretariat to achieve the Association’s goals.
Ensure implementation of all policies, plans, and decisions of the EXCO, various committees of ACCOBIN and CCOs.
The Executive Secretary of the ACCOBIN is directly responsible to the EXCO for the day-to-day management of the affairs of the Association.
Similarly, the Executive Secretary will work closely with the Sub-Committee of the EXCO from time to time to deliver on EXCO’s mandate.
The Executive Secretary is also the Secretary to ACCOBIN’s EXCO.
The Executive Secretary is to lead the overall growth and development of the Association, which involve key activities such as:
Digitization of Operations
Strategy Development, Planning, and Reporting
Relationship Management
Operational Management
Compliance with statutory requirements with clear understanding of Regulatory, Government and Industry Processes
Qualification and Experience
The candidate for the post of Executive Secretary is required to possess:
A candidate must have a minimum of Bachelor's Degree from a reputable university. A Master’s Degree in any of the Social Sciences including Law, Accounting, Economics, etc. or relevant disciplines from a recognized university will be an added advantage.
Evidence of current membership of reputable professional institute for at least 3 years.
The individual must have a minimum of 8 years’ cognate working experience in administrative, general or operational management roles with demonstrable capability in engaging diverse stakeholders, leading teams and delivering results.
A high integrity and moral character with excellent interpersonal relations.
Demonstrable evidence of consummate management and leadership drive in previous positions; in addition, must possess excellent communication, interpersonal skill and bookkeeping.
A considerable degree of competence, responsiveness and judgement on management matters with outstanding experience at top management level.
A capacity to instil confidence in others and command the loyalty and respect of people.
A capacity to understand the complexity of the professional system and must be able to effectively utilize human resources to attain a world class status.
Must be ICT compliant in Microsoft Suite, Use of Meeting tools e.g. Zoom, Teams etc.
