We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Gender Inclusion & Protection Officer
Location: Borno
Brief Role Description
The Gender Inclusion & Protection Officer will ensure that F‑CASD’s operations, programs, and policies integrate gender perspectives and safeguard the rights and dignity of all participants.
This role is critical in promoting equity, preventing discrimination, and embedding protection principles across nutrition, livelihoods, climate justice, and WASH interventions.
The position requires strong knowledge of gender frameworks, protection standards, and the ability to foster a culture of inclusivity and accountability throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor gender inclusion and protection policies aligned with F‑CASD’s mission and donor requirements.
Mainstream gender and protection considerations into all program areas — nutrition, livelihoods, climate justice, and WASH — ensuring equitable participation and benefits for women, men, and vulnerable groups.
Conduct gender and protection audits to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities, recommending corrective actions.
Provide training and guidance to staff and partners on gender equity, safeguarding, and protection practices.
Review program designs, contracts, and agreements to ensure gender inclusion and compliance with protection standards.
Investigate and resolve gender‑related or protection issues, reporting findings to management and stakeholders.
Maintain accurate records of gender inclusion and protection activities, preparing reports for senior leadership and donors.
Collaborate with program teams to integrate gender‑sensitive and protection‑focused approaches into project planning, implementation, and monitoring.
Stay updated on evolving gender frameworks, national laws, and donor requirements relevant to protection and sustainable development.
Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and gender equity across the organization.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Law, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
3+ years of experience in gender inclusion, protection, or program management roles, preferably within NGOs or development organizations.
Strong knowledge of gender frameworks, protection standards, donor regulations, and national legal requirements.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to integrate gender inclusion and protection into diverse program areas and resolve complex issues.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Proficiency in gender and protection monitoring tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
Required Skills:
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
Knowledge of gender inclusion frameworks and protection standards.
Proficiency in monitoring and reporting tools for gender and protection.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Proven track record in mainstreaming gender equity and safeguarding vulnerable groups.
