We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accounts Payable and Fixed Asset Analyst

Location: Lagos
Reports To: Head of Finance

Major Responsibilties

• Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services.
• Register Vendors details on the ERP
• Ensure vendors’ payable is instituted prior to the due dates
• Ensure prompt monthly remittances of all statutory deductions: PAYE, Pension, WHT, VAT etc.
• Ensure proper documentation of all invoices processed on a real-time basis
• Book approved invoices in the defined accounting system
• Processing of approved payments via the company banking platforms
• Continuous automation of processes for improved eƯiciency
• Ensure separate and proper filing of all payments made via Account Payable Module
• Carry out reconciliations with vendors as required.
• Share daily bank balance positions with senior management
• Liaise with necessary internal and external stakeholders for prompt resolution of payment issues
• Assist in the monthly, quarterly and annual closing process (accruals, prepayments, bank & petty cash reconciliations etc.) and preparation of reports for management decision making.
• Complete registration of the company with new suppliers/vendors when required
• Verify all invoices with the Contracts, Purchase Order, delivery note and management approval
• Ensure all expenses are captured in the correct project account
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and depreciation of fixed assets
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned in line with business priorities.

Performance Measures:

• Financial Reporting - Timely and accurate reports (Daily cash position, weekly bank reconciliation, month end reports, etc)
• Accurate and updated fixed asset register and management
• Cost Efficiency - Payments processing in accordance to approved budget

OPEX to Revenue Ratio:

• Systems & Controls - No. of Internal Control/Process Breach Incidents.

ERP/Systems Implementation:

• Month-End Closing Cycle Time
• Prompt payment processing, confirmations, advice and reconciliation
• Regulatory & Compliance - % Timely Statutory Filings and remittances (VAT, WHT, Payroll costs and taxes):

Audit Query Resolution Time:

• Number of Regulatory Penalties/Infringements
• Profitability - Return on Assets (ROA) EBITDA Margin
• Liquidity & Cash Flow - Weekly payment planning and forecasting.

Operating Cash Flow Coverage Ratio:

• People & Development - Personal development initiatives embarked upon
• Team work and cross-functional collaborations

Education and Experience
Academic Qualification:

• Bachelor’s or a First Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other Business related fields.

Professional Certification:

• Professional accounting qualification – ICAN / ACA / ACCA / CPA / CIMA
• Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in progressive accounting, investment, or finance experience
• Industry experience is an advantage

Skills/Competencies:

• Computer Skills: Accounting Software, MS Office (Word, Excel), Research skills
• Accounting Skills: Financial reporting and Account reconciliation.
• Managerial Skills: Leadership, Teamwork, Negotiation and Time management.
