Job Summary

• NutriK KFZE, a subsidiary of the globally recognized Nutriset Group, plays a key role in producing and distributing high-quality ready-to-use foods that support the treatment and prevention of malnutrition across Nigeria and is committed to improving the well-being of children and families through products such as Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF), Ready-to-Use Supplementary Food (RUSF), and Lipid-Based Nutrient Supplements (LNS)
• To support its growing operations in Kano, the company is seeking a dedicated and experienced Hygienist to join its QHSE Department

Overall Mission

• Ensure the effectiveness of hygiene-related activities, pest control, cleaning validation, and waste management while actively participating in food safety initiatives and delivering training and awareness on Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to staff, visitors, and subcontractors

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Coordinate and monitor hygiene activities to ensure effectiveness
• Conduct daily and weekly inspections to maintain required hygiene standards
• Supervise preparation of cleaning solutions and ensure staff competency in their use
• Validate cleaning methods and oversee the overall cleaning program
• Train cleaning staff on approved procedures and supervise their activities
• Ensure availability and proper use of hygiene consumables and work uniforms
• Analyze environmental monitoring results with quality assurance teams and implement corrective actions where necessary
• Perform trend analysis of temperature and humidity in production and warehouse areas
• Participate in sensory evaluation of raw materials, packaging, and finished products
• Maintain and retrieve cleaning records in production areas
• Conduct weekly warehouse inspections and report findings to relevant stakeholders
• Perform pest control checks, analyze results, and monitor trends
• Train and evaluate outsourced pest and waste management providers
• Ensure effectiveness of pest control programs and monitor pest activity
• Conduct regular meetings with cleaning staff and monitor hygiene, dress code, and behavior
• Inspect pest control traps and perform trend analysis on pest activity and environmental monitoring results
• Participate in quality department meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Train all staff on GHP and GMP standards
• Conduct induction sessions for visitors and subcontractors before entry into production areas
• Serve as a member of the Internal Audit, Change, and HACCP teams and participate in management reviews
• Develop and share annual hygiene inspection plans with stakeholders and monitor implementation
• Follow up on gap closure actions with relevant stakeholders
• Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field
• Minimum of three years’ experience in the food industry in a similar role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
