The PATH4AIPOCUS Project is a three-year initiative funded by the Gates Foundation. The project aligns with national and global Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Nutrition Health (MNCNH) priorities by supporting the development, validation, and scale-up of Artificial Intelligence–enabled Point-of-Care Ultrasound (AI-POCUS) within antenatal care (ANC) services in Nigeria.

The project aims to generate robust evidence on health system readiness—including service delivery regulations, policy alignment, competency frameworks, financing mechanisms, and implementation feasibility—to inform sustainable integration of AI-enabled POCUS into routine maternal healthcare in resource-constrained settings.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Coordinator

Locations: Abuja (FCT) and Edo

Position Summary

• The Project Coordinator will provide strategic, technical, and operational leadership for the overall implementation of the PATH4AIPOCUS project. The role requires strong program management capacity, health systems expertise, and the ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder engagements across federal and state levels.
• Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Coordinator will ensure that project activities are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with donor expectations, regulatory standards, and national health priorities.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Technical Leadership:

• Lead end-to-end implementation of the project workplan in alignment with donor-approved objectives and timelines.
• Provide technical oversight on AI-enabled POCUS integration within antenatal care platforms.
• Ensure alignment with national MNCNH policies and regulatory frameworks.

Program Management & Coordination:

• Develop annual workplans, budgets, and performance monitoring frameworks.
• Coordinate state-level implementation through State Coordinators.
• Monitor deliverables, milestones, and performance indicators.
• Ensure compliance with donor reporting and financial accountability requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Maintain high-level engagement with Federal Ministry of Health stakeholders, regulatory agencies, professional associations, and implementing partners.
• Facilitate technical advisory meetings, stakeholder consultations, and dissemination events.
• Strengthen collaboration between clinical, policy, and research actors.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning:

• Oversee implementation of the monitoring and evaluation framework.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and timely reporting.
• Lead periodic performance reviews and adaptive management processes.
• Support evidence generation, documentation, and publication of findings.

Risk & Quality Management:

• Identify and mitigate operational, regulatory, financial, and security risks.
• Ensure quality assurance standards for service delivery and device utilization.
• Escalate strategic risks to the Project Director promptly.

Qualification and Experience

• Postgraduate Degree in Public Health, Medicine, Health Policy, Health Economics, or related field (PhD or clinical specialization is an advantage).
• 8–10 years of progressive experience managing donor-funded health programs.
• Demonstrated expertise in maternal and newborn health programming.
• Experience working with federal and state health authorities in Nigeria.
• Strong understanding of health systems strengthening and digital health integration.
• Proven leadership, stakeholder management, and team supervision skills.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
