Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF)is a nonprofit non-governmental national organization established in Nigeria in July 2014 with the aim to improve the lives of people through effective and efficient humanitarian and developmental assistance in communities where such supports are essentially necessary within Nigeria. Through international and national networking, LPF provided humanitarian and developmental assistance to individuals, families, schools, Health facilities, and communities in more than twelve (12) states within Nigeria regardless of their ethnicity, political and religious affiliation. LPF fundamentally intervenes in multi-sectoral humanitarian activities majoring in Protection, Health, Food Security & Livelihood, Education, Nutrition, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) interventions, and other Cross-Sectoral areas.

Job Title: Health Promotion Officer
Locations: Kaga, Dikwa and Konduga, Borno

Duty Description
The Health Promotion Officer will be responsible for day to day management of Hygiene Promotion activities and staff involved in direct implementation of LPF’s Project Response Strategy.
S/he is overall responsible for ensuring that approved technical approaches to hygiene promotion are adhered to, maintaining program quality and that all hygiene objectives are met on time and within the budget. When requested, s/he will undertake capacity building of team members.
Major Responsibilities
Program Management, Technical Quality, and Strategy:
Ensure that all hygiene promotion activities are in line with project strategy and design
Maintain close links and collaboration with other sectors and in particular Health, Nutrition and Protection
Ensure that the hygiene promotion activities are implemented in a timely and professional manner (as per SPHERE and LPF standards) and in line with beneficiary needs.
If requested, participate in any inter sectorial assessment process, including analysis and planning
Directly manage the day-to-day hygiene promotion activities in the field
Ensure that health promotion activities meet stated objectives within the timeframe
Ensure program activities foster accountability to beneficiaries, gender and protection sensitivity and inclusion are adequately addressed in programming
Propose technical designs and methodologies for all hygiene promotion hygiene activities
Provide technical support and training for hygiene promoters and community volunteers.
Provide regular reports, document results and maintain detailed records.
Program Development and Monitoring:
Responsible for ensuring that monitoring and data collection of all health promotion indicators are in line with the approved monitoring framework, using all the correct monitoring tools and at the frequency prescribed
If requested, participate in monitoring data analysis
Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of the team; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to the Programme Coordinator, and when liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for IRC programs
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs
Ensure water sanitation and hygiene promotional activities are facilitated in accordance with IRC logistics policy and in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of programs.
Ensure all relevant financial documentation is completed accurately as required by LPF finance policy.
Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner and incorporate manager feedback.
Coordination & Representation:
Work closely and coordinate with the logistics, finance and grant staff to ensure timely and complaint program activities and expenditures; including active participation in grant opening/closing and review meetings.
Undertake/participate in liaison, coordination, and information sharing activities with national NGOs, international organizations, donors and government at field level.
Other Compliance Information:
Eager and required to adhere to LPF’s principles and values and promote gender justice and women's rights.
Understanding of and commitment to adhere to equity, diversity, gender, child safety, and staff health and wellbeing principles.
Ensure that the properties in the place of work are respected and that no damage is caused to them.
Adhere to implementation standards, LPF ways of working, and the terms of the LPF Code of Conduct; including the commitment to zero tolerance on SEA and the obligation to report SEA cases.
He / She must not use their position of being engaged in LPF work to gain favours or material advantage.
Report any failure or damage of system/water facilities to the LPF Officer or Assistant in charge.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Officer or Assistant in charge.
Job Requirements
B. Sc. / High National Diploma in Environmental Sciences, Social Work, Nursing, Public Health
Minimum of 2 – 5 years of humanitarian aid experience.
Strong management and communication skills
Ability to live and work in stressful and insecure environment
Able to manage multiple tasks.
Knowledge and/or experience in conflict management, protection, or other related field
Able to work under pressure and good at timely decision making.
Fluency in English and Hausa language preferred.
Knowledge of the local languages
Excellent professional approach and strong team building skills.
knowledge of LPF policies and procedures.
Requires general information management and telecommunication skills and proficiency in information technology/ computer skills.
Qualifications and / or experience in professional information and communication-related fields.
Strong assessment, evaluation, analysis, and strategic planning skills.
Knowledge of Humanitarian /Human rights / Refugee Law.
Basic knowledge of contract employment and experience and skills in recruitment and selection.
