We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Cashier

Location: Ozubulu, Anambra
Employment Type: Full-time

Main Functions

• The Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions efficiently and accurately, ensuring excellent customer service while maintaining proper financial records.
• The role involves receiving payments, issuing receipts, balancing cash registers, and supporting daily financial operations.
• The Cashier must be trustworthy, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced retail or service environment.

Role Responsibilities
Transaction Processing:

• Receive and process payments via cash, POS, bank transfers, or other payment methods.
• Issue receipts and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
• Handle refunds, exchanges, and discounts in line with company policies.

Cash Handling and Reconciliation:

• Maintain accurate cash register balances at all times.
• Perform daily cash counts and reconcile cash at the end of each shift.
• Report any discrepancies or irregularities immediately.

Customer Service:

• Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve basic complaints professionally.
• Ensure a positive customer experience at the point of sale.

Record Keeping and Documentation:

• Maintain proper records of all transactions.
• Prepare daily sales reports and submit to the appropriate department.
• Ensure accurate documentation of financial activities.

POS and System Management:

• Operate and manage POS systems efficiently.
• Ensure all items are properly scanned and recorded.
• Report system issues or malfunctions promptly.

Compliance and Internal Control:

• Adhere to company policies and financial procedures.
• Ensure all transactions comply with internal control standards.
• Support audit processes when required.

Sales Support:

• Assist in promoting products and services where necessary.
• Support inventory tracking by reporting low stock items.
• Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure smooth service delivery.

Workplace Organization:

• Keep the cashier area clean, organized, and secure.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of cash and transaction materials.

Experience/Qualification

• Minimum of an SSCE / OND in Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields
• 1 – 2 years of experience as a cashier or in a similar role
• Experience in retail, hospitality, or the service industry is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of financial transactions and cash handling
• Familiarity with POS systems is an added advantage.
