Caring Habitat is a 40-room purpose-built inpatient skilled nursing and rehabilitation hospital designed to complement the health outcomes of patients through the delivery robust rehabilitation program.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Healthcare Assistant

Location: Abraham Adesanya, Lekki - Lagos

Job Summary

• We are an In-patient Nursing and Rehabilitation facility committed to supporting individuals on their journey to wellness and recovery. We require dynamic, self motivated and driven care givers in addition to our team to help render specialized care tailored to the health needs of our esteemed patients.

Responsibilities

• Rendering personal care; bed bathing and or assisted bathroom.
• Eating (support the patient during feed-time).
• Change patients’ soiled diapers, Incopad, slide sheet, and bed linen.
• Assist the patient in using the convenience.
• Transferring the patient using the Glide/Slide sheet and hoist to facilitate ambulation.
• Communication: Identify the patient’s hobbies and often engage them in activities that are of interest to him/her, for example, play games, watch television programs, play music that the patient loves listening to, miming, storytelling, etc.
• Create a positive home-like environment by responding to patients’ needs promptly, respecting his/her privacy.
• Help the patient develop trust.
• Patient’s confidentiality is vital.
• Offer emotional support and work with the family: show empathy and use appropriate words peculiar to the patient’s condition.
• Communicate effectively and actively listen.
• Follow Infection Prevention /Control practices: using personal protective equipment such as face mask, hand glove, when hands are visibly soiled with patient body fluid, wash hands with soap under running water before and after attending to patients, and or use hand sanitizer, proper waste segregation, putting soiled and dirty clothes in separate laundry bags.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and report safety problems immediately.
• Perform procedures correctly, following, “Standard of Practice” example, bed or assisted, bathroom, oral care, patient feeding, 2-hourly changing of the patient’s position, and preparing wound dressing gauze.

Requirements

• A caregiver's certificate.
• 1-3 Years of working experience as a caregiver.

Salary and Benefits

• N75,000 / Month (Net)
