Job Title: Finance & Accounts Officer

Role Overview

• The Finance & Accounts Officer is responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, bookkeeping, reporting, and financial compliance.
• This role ensures that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and aligned with organizational policies and standards.
• The ideal candidate is highly analytical, trustworthy, and experienced in financial management systems, with the ability to operate in a structured, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and bookkeeping systems
• Process accounts payable and receivable in a timely and accurate manner
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Assist in budget preparation, tracking, and variance analysis
• Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements
• Support payroll processing and staff expense management
• Maintain documentation for all financial transactions and audit readiness
• Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations
• Assist in managing donations, offerings, and designated funds with transparency
• Support audits and financial reviews as required
• Ensure proper financial controls and risk management procedures are followed

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, CPA) is an added advantage
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting or financial management
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems)
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in nonprofit, ministry, or donor-funded organizations is highly preferred
• Personal alignment with the mission, values, and spiritual foundation of Bible Davids Ministries is essential.
