Job Title: Social Media & Communications Officer (Female)

Location: Asokoro, Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

• Mary Crown Foundation is seeking to hire an experienced and passionate female Social Media & Communications Officer to manage the organization’s online presence, support communication activities, and promote our programs through strategic content creation and community engagement.
• The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of experience working with an NGO, possess strong writing and communication skills, and be capable of developing engaging digital content that aligns with the foundation’s mission.

Key Responsibilities
The Social Media & Communications Officer will be responsible for:

• Managing and updating the organization’s social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
• Developing and executing a social media content calendar.
• Creating high-quality content including posts, captions, stories, reels, flyers, and short videos.
• Writing compelling articles, press releases, newsletters, reports, and event summaries.
• Covering organizational events and programs through live posting, photos, videos, and storytelling.
• Responding to messages, comments, and inquiries professionally and promptly.
• Growing online engagement and increasing followers through effective social media strategies.
• Designing and producing promotional materials for campaigns and events.
• Supporting communication for donor visibility and reporting.
• Ensuring brand consistency across all communication platforms.
• Monitoring and evaluating social media performance using analytics tools and preparing periodic reports.
• Supporting advocacy campaigns and awareness programs through digital storytelling.

Requirements and Qualifications
Interested candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Minimum qualification: OND / HND / BSc in Mass Communication, Public Relations, English, Social Sciences, or any related field.
• Minimum of 3 years proven work experience with an NGO.
• Female applicant (mandatory).
• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Proven experience managing social media accounts professionally.
• Ability to generate creative content and tell impactful stories.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of social media tools and trends.
• Basic knowledge of graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW (added advantage).
• Basic video editing skills (CapCut, InShot, Adobe Premiere, etc.) is an added advantage.
• Experience in photography and content documentation is an added advantage.
