Job Description
We are seeking to recruit a highly competent, proactive, and results-driven Hotel Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel, drive revenue growth, strengthen service delivery, and ensure accountability across all operational units.
The ideal candidate must have strong supervisory capacity, sound operational judgment, good financial oversight ability, and proven experience in managing hospitality operations effectively.
Job Summary
The Hotel Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating hotel operations across accommodation, food and bar, kitchen, laundry, and other service units to ensure excellent guest experience, sustainable revenue generation, cost control, and operational efficiency.
The role also includes close supervision of financial transactions, blocking leakages, monitoring assets and stores, and supporting transparency and accountability in the management of the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Generation:
Coordinate the marketing activities of the hotel’s facilities to support sustainable revenue generation and profitability
Deploy innovative strategies to increase daily room occupancy to a minimum of 70%
Develop strategic approaches for promoting high-quality service delivery and a positive image for the hotel
Manage approved budgets prudently to ensure value for money
Monitor and coordinate service delivery in accommodation, food and bar, kitchen, and laundry to ensure guests’ expectations are met and exceeded
Blocking of Financial Leakages:
Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly reviews of financial transactions and account reconciliations across accommodation, kitchen, store, laundry, food and bar, and other relevant units
Monitor and ensure prudent use of approved expenses to achieve cost savings and value for money
Apply innovative management practices to prevent revenue diversion, suppression, and other leakages in all units
Report any suspected financial leakages or malpractice directly to Management or its authorised representative
Supervision and Operations Management:
Supervise staff and operational activities across all units to ensure excellent service delivery at all times
Allocate work schedules for individuals and teams
Promptly resolve guests’ complaints and operational issues
Ensure proper and optimal functioning of the hotel’s security systems
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and other statutory regulations
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all hotel assets
Maintain accurate operational and financial records
Monitor hotel stores, track stock levels, and determine reorder points
Accounts and Audit Support:
Coordinate expenditures across units and departments to ensure transparency, prudence, and accountability
Verify payments, fund transfers, and revenue inflows from guests and organisations
Work closely with relevant units to monitor and improve revenue generation
Update the fixed asset register whenever new assets are acquired
Carry out periodic physical verification of fixed assets against the register
Prepare physical verification reports and submit to Management
Ensure proper documentation of all revenue received and expenses incurred
Carry out any other duties assigned by Management or its authorised representative
Qualifications and Requirements
Relevant academic qualification in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Management, or a related field will be an added advantage
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a hotel supervisory, hotel operations, hospitality management, or closely related role
Strong knowledge of hotel operations, guest service management, and staff supervision
Good financial oversight, reconciliation, and accountability skills
Ability to monitor revenue, costs, expenses, and stock effectively
Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and maintain high service standards
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of health, safety, and operational compliance requirements in the hospitality sector
Proficiency in record keeping, reporting, and basic use of office or hotel management systems.
