Job Title: Asset Planning, Economics, & Performance Analysis Lead

Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategically driven Asset Planning, Economics, & Performance Analysis Lead based in Port Harcourt (PH), Rivers State, Nigeria, to support long-term value creation across upstream oil & gas assets.
The role will focus on driving integrated asset planning, economic evaluation, and performance optimization to ensure maximum production efficiency, disciplined capital allocation, and alignment with corporate strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain comprehensive long-term asset plans, including production forecasts, capital expenditure plans, and resource allocation strategies to optimize asset performance and align with business objectives.
Conduct detailed economic evaluations of development projects, including NPV, IRR, payback analysis, and sensitivity modelling to support investment decisions.
Coordinate financial modelling processes to assess the viability and profitability of new and existing assets, including field development plans and cost optimization initiatives.
Monitor and analyze asset performance across oilfield operations, identifying key performance indicators, trends, and improvement opportunities to support continuous optimization.
Collaborate with the Finance team to develop, manage, and track capital budgets for asset development and maintenance, ensuring efficient capital allocation and alignment with financial targets.
Work closely with Reservoir Engineering teams to evaluate reserves and ensure accurate reporting in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Lead the appraisal of strategic investment opportunities, including acquisitions, divestments, and joint ventures, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and value creation objectives.
Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, Production, and Operations teams to ensure integrated asset management and alignment of technical, operational, and financial strategies.
Ensure all planning and economic activities comply with applicable regulations, industry standards, and internal corporate policies to safeguard operational integrity and license to operate.
Develop and evaluate multiple development and operational scenarios, providing clear recommendations based on technical feasibility, financial performance, and strategic fit.
Prepare and present regular reports on asset performance, economic valuation, and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders, delivering actionable insights that drive value creation.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
Master’s degree or professional certifications such as SPE, CFA, PMP, or equivalent is an added advantage.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in asset management, economic analysis, or performance evaluation within an upstream oil & gas environment.
Strong knowledge of economic modelling, financial analysis, and investment appraisal techniques specific to the oil & gas industry.
Strong financial acumen with experience in capital budgeting, cost analysis, and portfolio optimization.
Solid understanding of reservoir engineering principles, production operations, and reserves reporting standards.
Proven experience in developing and implementing long-term asset strategies that maximize production and asset value.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets, identify trends, and generate strategic insights.
Strong capability in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial and operational risks in asset development and management.
High adaptability to changing market conditions, operational challenges, and evolving corporate priorities.
Strong communication skills with experience presenting complex technical and financial insights to senior stakeholders.
