We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Pastry Chef / Pastry Specialist

Location: Wuse / Gwarimpa - Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Manages all day-to-day operations of the pastry and baking section of the kitchen.
• Prepare a wide variety of goods such as pastries, small chops, cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes.
• Able to produce all baked goods including but not limited to artisan breads and rolls, muffins, laminated Danish, laminated croissants and doughnuts etc.
• Able to develop, design or creates new ideas and items for the pastry kitchen.
• Create new and exciting deserts to renew restaurant’s menu and engage the interest of customers.
• Supervise and coordinate all pastry and dessert preparation and presentation.
• Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc and make appropriate orders within budget.
• Check quality of materials and conditions of equipment and devices used for cooking.
• Ensure excellent quality throughout the desert offerings.
• Decorate pastries and deserts using different types if icings, toppings etc. and ensure the food presentation will be beautiful and exciting.
• Must posses a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with co-workers efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure compliance will all applicable laws and regulations.
• Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently.
• Ensuring culinary standards and responsibilities are met for pastry team.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum educational qualification must be Diploma.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in pastry cooking or pastry chef.
• Proven experience as Pastry Chef, baker or relevant role.
• Great attention to detail and creativity.
• Organizing and leadership skills.
• Willingness to replenish professional knowledge.
• In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition.
• Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.).
• Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Salary
N80,000 per month.
