Sitrid International School (SIS) Port Harcourt is an acronym for Steps In The Right Direction. It is a 21st century based Nursery, Primary school and Secondary School which opened a little over 10 years ago. It caters for children between the ages of 3 months - 16 years (Daycare to SS3 ). It is a highly technology based school with dedicated teachers and staff. SIS is located on the South- West of Port Harcourt (50-56 Rumuevorlu Mini Orlu Road off Ada George Way, Port Harcourt) on a beautiful 8 plots of land. It provides an atmosphere conducive for focused learning. It has a spacious athletic field and secured car park that makes the school a gorgeous and efficient educational learning environment.

Job Summary

• We are seeking an exceptional and innovative educational Christian leader to join our dynamic team as the Head of Nursery School.
• The successful candidate will have expert knowledge in childcare, child safety, and protection, as well as a deep understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• This is a unique opportunity to lead and develop our nursery provision, inspiring a team of educators to deliver high-quality care and education to our youngest learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the nursery team: Provide guidance, support, and coaching to ensure the team delivers high-quality care and education.
• Develop and implement nursery policies: Ensure policies are aligned with the EYFS framework and promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
• Safeguarding and child protection: Ensure the nursery is a safe and secure environment, adhering to child safety and protection policies and procedures.
• Curriculum development and implementation: Develop and implement a curriculum that is aligned with the EYFS framework and meets the needs of our children.
• Assessment and tracking: Develop and implement systems to track children's progress, identifying areas for support and development.
• Parent and community engagement: Foster strong relationships with parents and the wider community, promoting the nursery school and its values.
• Technology integration: Ensure the effective use of technology in the nursery, including the use of digital tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning.
• Quality assurance: Monitor and evaluate the quality of nursery provision, identifying areas for improvement and development.

Requirements

• Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Teaching certification: Qualified teacher status (TRCN) or eligibility for certification.
• Experience: At least 4 years previous experience in a nursery school setting, ideally in a leadership role.
• Child safety and protection training: Expert knowledge of child safety and protection policies and procedures.
• EYFS framework: In-depth knowledge of the EYFS framework and its application in a nursery setting.
• Technology skills: Competence in the use of digital tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning.
