Job Summary
WTS Energy is seeking a Rotary & Fixed Wing Superintendent to lead and oversee aviation operations within the energy sector.
This role supports a major upstream oil and gas operator by managing offshore and onshore helicopter services, company aircraft, heliports, and helidecks in compliance with national regulations and industry standards.
The Superintendent will lead aviation personnel and contractors, manage helicopter contracts, enforce safety protocols aligned with industry life-saving rules, and coordinate with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.
Candidates will also support emergency medevac operations, integrate remotely piloted aircraft systems, and provide technical expertise for audits and aviation projects.

Responsibilities
Lead and manage aviation personnel and contractors to ensure safe, secure, and efficient air transport operations supporting energy sector logistics.
Oversee offshore and onshore helicopter services, company aircraft, heliports, helidecks, and support facilities in full compliance with national regulations and industry standards.
Champion and enforce a robust safety culture aligned with the ‘Goal Zero’ initiative and adherence to the nine IOGP Life Saving Rules.
Manage helicopter contracts to meet operational competence and business requirements, optimizing resource allocation and prioritizing mission-critical activities.
Coordinate with customers, contractors, and national aviation authorities to secure and maintain all necessary licenses, permits, and regulatory approvals.
Support emergency medical evacuation (medevac) and evacuation operations by ensuring timely and effective aviation assistance.
Ensure regular inspection, maintenance, and audit of aviation facilities and contractors in accordance with national and industry standards.
Collaborate with remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS) specialists to ensure regulatory compliance, operational monitoring, and technical integration.
Lead aviation audit programs, provide technical expertise during incident investigations, and implement corrective actions to enhance operational safety.
Maintain comprehensive records of audits, incidents, and operational data, contributing technical input for aviation projects, facility upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Current or former holder of an Air Transport Pilot’s Licence (Helicopters) with Instrument Rating and a minimum of 10 years of commercial pilot experience, OR Current or former Approved Maintenance Certificate holder Part 66 (B1 or B2) with at least 10 years of aircraft maintenance experience, OR Safety or Quality Manager with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the aviation industry
Proven senior aviation leadership experience in roles such as training captain, flight safety officer, management pilot, chief engineer, safety and quality manager, or air accident investigator
Demonstrated expertise in negotiating and managing aviation contracts
Experience serving as an aviation adviser or auditor.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of national aviation regulations and industry standards, including IOGP 690, 696, and 697 series
Experience managing helicopter operations, heliports, helidecks, and associated aviation support facilities
Familiarity with aviation safety initiatives, including Goal Zero and IOGP Life Saving Rules compliance
Proven ability to liaise effectively with regulatory agencies, contractors, and industry stakeholders
Competence in supporting remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS) operations and integration
Skilled in conducting aviation audits, incident investigations, and implementing corrective actions
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
