We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Basketball Coach

Location: VGC, Lagos 
Employment Type: Full-Time (On-site)

Role Overview

• We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Basketball Coach to lead our program. This role requires a disciplined, strategic and hands-on professional who can develop players to a competitive standard and build a strong, winning team culture.
• This is not an entry-level role - we are looking for someone with a proven track record of coaching success and player development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and structure intensive, high-quality basketball training sessions on a daily basis
• Develop players’ technical skills, game intelligence and physical conditioning to a competitive level
• Design and implement effective game strategies and tactical systems
• Take full ownership of team performance in matches and tournaments
• Identify talent, assess player strengths/weaknesses and drive measurable improvement
• Instill discipline, accountability and a winning mindset within the team
• Maintain high training standards and ensure consistency in performance
• Manage team operations including schedules, attendance and match preparation
• Enforce safety, professionalism and conduct standards at all times

Requirements

• Strong, proven experience as a basketball coach or high-level competitive player
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage a competitive team
• Deep understanding of basketball tactics, player development and game strategy
• Confident leadership style with the ability to command respect and discipline
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills
• High level of commitment, professionalism and work ethic
• Ability to work full-time including weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

• Recognized coaching certification (FIBA or equivalent) is an added advantage
• Experience coaching in a structured academy, school or club environment
• Background in sports science, fitness, or physical education
• Strong knowledge of both local and international basketball standards.
