We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Business Development Officer

Locations: Lagos & Abuja / Hybrid
Reports To: Head of Business Development / Business Unit Lead
Department: Business Development

Job Summary

  • The Business Development Officer drives growth across our fintech ecosystem, which spans asset management, digital microfinance banking, payment solutions, credit facilities, and training & development.
  • You will identify new business opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and deepen relationships with clients to expand market share and revenue across all verticals.

Key Responsibilities
Market & Client Development:

  • Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities across all group offerings: asset management, microfinance banking, payments, credit, and training services.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients including individuals, SMEs, corporates, and institutional partners.
  • Conduct market research to track industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within fintech.

Relationship Management:

  • Serve as a relationship manager for assigned clients, ensuring high service levels and retention.
  • Onboard new clients for digital banking, investment products, loan facilities, and payment solutions.
  • Cross-sell group services by understanding client needs and recommending relevant solutions.

Sales & Revenue Growth:

  • Achieve monthly and quarterly targets for customer acquisition, loan disbursement, investment subscriptions, and payment platform adoption.
  • Structure proposals, pitch solutions, and negotiate terms with prospects and partners.
  • Collaborate with product teams to tailor offerings that meet market demand.

Partnerships & Ecosystem Growth:

  • Initiate and manage partnerships with aggregators, agents, merchants, and corporate clients.
  • Support joint initiatives with training & development units to drive client education and product uptake.
  • Represent the company at industry events, webinars, and client meetings.
  • Reporting & Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, pipeline, and client interactions in the CRM.
  • Provide weekly and monthly performance reports to management.
  • Ensure all business development activities comply with regulatory and internal policies.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years in business development, sales, or relationship management, preferably in fintech, banking, asset management, or related sectors.
  • Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Analytical mindset with ability to understand financial products. Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office/Google Workspace.
  • Attributes: Target-driven, self-motivated, and able to work across multiple business units. High integrity and customer-centric approach.
