We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head Of Department (Account)

Location: Ajah, Lagos,
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities
Financial Leadership:

  • Provide strategic financial leadership to the executive team, contributing to the overall success and growth of the company.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to guide decision making and resource allocation.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations for improving financial performance.

Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
  • Oversee day-to-day activities of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

Financial Reporting:

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities as required.

Cash Management:

  • Manage cash flow to optimize working capital and support operational requirements.
  • Implement effective treasury management practices.

Key Performance Indicators
Compliance:

  • Stay updated on relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory changes, ensuring the company's compliance.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address financial and regulatory matters.

Financial Leadership:

  • Successful implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Contribution to the development and achievement of strategic financial goals.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Accuracy of financial forecasts and budgets.
  • Timely identification and communication of significant variances.

Team Management:

  • Employee satisfaction and engagement within the accounting team.

Financial Reporting:

  • Timeliness and accuracy of internal and external financial reports.
  • Successful completion of audits with minimal findings.

Cash Management:

  • Maintenance of optimal working capital levels.

  • Adherence to accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Successful resolution of financial and regulatory issues.

Qualifications

  • Continuous professional development and relevant certifications.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree or
  • professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience (6 years) in a senior financial management role within the real estate industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Leadership and team management experience.
