Job Title: Mathematics Tutor

Location: Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Part-time

Job Summary

• We are looking for a knowledgeable and patient Mathematics Tutor to join our academic team. The tutor will be responsible for teaching mathematics to students preparing for school exams, and international tests.
• The ideal candidate should have strong subject mastery, effective communication skills, and the ability to simplify complex concepts for learners at different levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach mathematics, chemistry, further maths, and physics to students across various levels, including secondary school, adult learners, and exam candidates.
• Prepare students for examinations such as JAMB , SAT, GRE, GMAT, and other standardized tests as required.
• Assess students' strengths and weaknesses and tailor lessons to their individual needs.
• Provide regular feedback on student progress and recommend improvement strategies.
• Develop lesson plans, practice exercises, mock tests, and other learning materials.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and completed work.
• Support students with homework, assignments, and revision sessions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• Proven experience teaching mathematics in a school, tutoring center, or exam-prep environment.
• Strong command of mathematical concepts and the ability to explain them clearly.
• Familiarity with exam formats such as SAT, GRE, GMAT, or JAMB is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with students of varying ages and proficiency levels.
• Strong organizational skills and a commitment to student success.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience teaching online using Zoom, Google Classroom, or similar platforms.
