Communicado Consulting - We’re a growing media, communications and editorial company with multiple brands spanning storytelling, PR and professional writing services.
We’re looking for a Social Media Manager who can take ownership of our social presence across every platform and every brand we operate — and grow each one with intention, creativity and consistency.
This is a full-time, remote, role. We are seeking a candidate who is a self-starter, driven, committed, have strategic thinking at the front of their practice and is looking to grow with us — not someone juggling side gigs or treating this as a stopgap.
As such, this is not a “just post and go” role.
You’ll be managing content across X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, WhatsApp and Telegram for multiple brands; creating short-form videos; writing marketing copy that converts; plugging our stories into trending conversations; growing communities; driving real traffic to our websites and newsletters and reporting what’s working and what’s not with actual data.
The Social Media Manager is responsible for planning, creating, scheduling and publishing content across all Company social media platforms and messaging channels, and for growing audience, engagement and traffic across every brand in the Communicado Consulting portfolio.
The role combines day-to-day content execution with strategic thinking about audience growth, community building and brand positioning.
Key Responsibilities
Youth Culture Digital Publication:
Manage the publication's presence on X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.
Prioritise X: monitor relevant keywords, trending conversations and breaking stories in real time. Plug related articles into trending conversations to provide context, drive positive brand sentiment and generate backlinks to the website.
Post independently at least 3 blog-post-based pieces per week, plus at least 1 additional original content idea per day.
Respond to and engage with relevant conversations daily.
Replicate approved posts across LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook with platform-appropriate formatting and captions.
Public Relations Agency and Editing/Publishing Company:
Create informative, educational and authority-building marketing content for each brand.
Post twice weekly per brand.
Adapt tone, messaging and format to each brand’s distinct audience and positioning.
Product and Sub-brand
Manage social media presence for any products or sub-brands launched by the Company.
Plan and execute product launch campaigns, countdown sequences, testimonial posts and enrolment-drive content as directed by the Publisher and Product Manager.
Coordinate with the Client Acquisition & Business Development Manager to amplify lead-generation content, case studies and client wins.
Short-form Video (TikTok and YouTube):
Create at least 3 short-form videos per week, replicable across TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
Develop video concepts that align with each brand’s editorial calendar and trending topics.
Repurpose blog content, quotes, data points and behind-the-scenes material into engaging video formats.
WhatsApp & Telegram Channel Growth:
Develop and implement strategies to grow the Youth Culture Publication's WhatsApp and Telegram channels.
Curate and push content to both channels consistently, ensuring content is distinct from (not duplicative of) the main social feeds.
Experiment with engagement tactics (polls, exclusive previews, breaking-news alerts) and report on what moves the needle.
Newsletter and Website Traffic:
Work with the Product Manager to grow newsletter subscribers across all brands.
Drive website traffic through content strategy, social engagement, backlink generation and cross-platform promotion.
Suggest and test call-to-action formats, link placements and lead-magnet ideas to convert social audiences into subscribers and site visitors.
Community Management and Engagement:
Monitor comments, DMs and mentions across all platforms daily.
Respond to audience interactions within a reasonable timeframe, escalating sensitive or reputational issues to the Publisher immediately.
Build and nurture an engaged community around each brand through consistent, authentic interaction.
Supporting Duties:
Create copy for new-month and special-day graphics well ahead of time.
Update Linktree after every new post.
Support marketing campaigns and product launches as directed by the Publisher, Product Manager or BD Manager.
Stay current on platform algorithm changes, best practices and emerging social media trends, and share insights at Friday knowledge-sharing sessions.
Reporting and Analytics:
Submit monthly performance reports no later than two (2) days after month-end, covering: follower growth, engagement rates, content reach, website referral traffic, newsletter sign-ups, and channel growth per platform per brand.
Perform a baseline assessment of all accounts within the first 5 working days of resumption and present findings with recommended quick wins.
Use data to inform content strategy: identify top-performing formats, posting times and audience segments, and adjust plans accordingly.
