Job Title: Part-Time Email Infrastructure & Deliverability Specialist (Remote/Hybrid)

Job Description

• We’re seeking a part-time staff member to help manage and maintain our company's email infrastructure and improve email deliverability. Since we send bulk marketing emails, this role is critical to ensuring proper setup, monitoring, and compliance with email best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage company email servers (monitor uptime, performance, and delivery health).
• Set up and configure email infrastructure, including:
  • SMTP servers for bulk email sending
  • Required server settings and routing configurations
• Monitor email deliverability and server activity, including tracking bounced messages, error logs, and latency.
• Update and manage sending IPs:
  • Review current IP reputation/health
  • Change email IPs when needed
  • Coordinate replacing blacklisted IPs by removing them and adding new IP ranges/IPs
  • Maintain and update the approved IP list used for sending
• Handle IP reputation and deliverability troubleshooting, working to reduce bounces and prevent future blacklisting.
• Perform regular maintenance:
  • Apply server/config updates
  • Ensure SPF/DKIM/DMARC (and related records) remain properly configured
• Coordinate with marketing/sending schedules to ensure campaigns use the correct infrastructure and sending routes.
• Prepare a brief report on email server status, deliverability metrics, and changes made.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Hands-on experience with email server administration and SMTP setup (bulk email experience is a plus).
• Familiarity with deliverability concepts (bounces, spam filtering, IP reputation).
• Experience managing or coordinating IP warming/reputation recovery (preferred).
• Ability to review logs and troubleshoot issues affecting sending and delivery.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured change processes.
