Job Title: Video Editor / 2D.3D Animator

Job Summary

• We're seeking a talented and creative Video Editor/Animator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll craft compelling visuals that bring stories to life. It involves transforming raw footage into polished narratives, incorporating motion graphics, and ensuring seamless integration of visual effects, ensuring brands’ videos align with their visions and captivate audiences across platforms like YouTube, social media, and streaming services.
• You'll collaborate directly with our founder, content leads, and clientele to produce high-impact media that fuels users’ growth. Expect to iterate quickly, experiment wildly, and wear a few hats—because in a startup, every edit counts.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and animate custom graphics, motion elements, and visual effects to enhance brand narratives, from simple transitions to full 2D/3D sequences and infographics.
• Collaborate with the content team to brainstorm concepts, storyboard ideas, visual styles, and align on brand voice for platforms like Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn.
• Optimize videos for performance: SEO, thumbnails, captions, and A/B testing to boost engagement metrics.
• Stay updated on emerging trends: Experiment with AI-assisted editing/animation tools and emerging formats to innovate and improve workflows.
• Contribute to startup hustle—occasional help with social media posting or basic motion design for our website.
• Incorporate sound design, color grading, and audio syncing to elevate the overall production value.
• Optimize videos for various digital platforms, ensuring compatibility with formats like 4K, vertical for socials and adaptive streaming.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously; meeting tight deadlines while maintaining creative integrity.
• Provide feedback on shoots and assist in post-production reviews to refine future content.
• Edit raw video footage using industry-standard software to create compelling stories, including cutting, trimming, and sequencing clips for optimal viewer engagement and flow.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in video editing and animation (portfolio required—show us your best reels!).
• Strong understanding of narrative structure, timing, and visual composition.
• Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of edited videos and animations (reel required during application).
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop), and DaVinci Resolve; familiarity with Cinema 4D or similar 3D animation tools like Blender is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines but still delivering with efficiency.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of sound design and music licensing for upbeat, brand-safe vibes.
• Passion for startups: Bonus points if you've freelanced for early-stage companies or dabbled in your own side projects.
• Experience with 3D animation or VFX integration.
• Knowledge of scripting in After Effects or Python for automation.
• Familiarity with collaboration tools like Frame.io or Slack.
• Understanding of SEO and analytics for video content performance.
• Knowledge of scripting and storyboarding for animated sequences.
• Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of video editing and animation work (required during application).
• Basic understanding of HTML5/CSS for web-optimized animations.
