Job Description

• A Community Health Officer is responsible for promoting and improving the health of individuals and families within a community.
• The role focuses on disease prevention, health education, basic clinical care, and implementing public health programs to enhance overall community well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide basic healthcare services and first-line treatment to community members
• Conduct health assessments and identify common health issues in the community
• Educate individuals and groups on hygiene, nutrition, maternal and child health, and disease prevention
• Implement and support public health programs such as immunization and sanitation campaigns
• Monitor and report disease outbreaks or health trends
• Conduct home visits and community outreach programs
• Support maternal, newborn, and child health services
• Collaborate with other healthcare workers and local authorities
• Maintain accurate health records and reports

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Community Health, Public Health, or a related field
• Certification or license as a Community Health Officer (depending on local regulations)
• Basic clinical and first aid knowledge
• Understanding of public health principles and community-based care
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
