Job Title: Project Engineer (Structural & Site)

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Role Overview

• The Structural & Site Engineer will play a dual role in both the design and on-site execution of real estate development projects.
• The role involves preparing and reviewing structural designs, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and overseeing daily site activities to guarantee that construction works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• The ideal candidate must be able to seamlessly bridge design intent with practical site implementation.

Key Responsibilities
Structural Engineering Duties:

• Develop structural designs, calculations, and detailed drawings for residential and commercial projects.
• Review architectural drawings and ensure structural feasibility and integrity.
• Conduct structural analysis and ensure compliance with local and international codes.
• Provide technical guidance on materials, load calculations, and construction methods.
• Review and approve contractor/shop drawings.

Site Engineering Duties:

• Supervise and coordinate on-site construction activities.
• Ensure projects are executed according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Monitor project progress and prepare site reports.
• Manage subcontractors, artisans, and site workers.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Conduct quality control inspections and resolve site challenges.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Accuracy and timeliness of structural designs and documentation
• Percentage of projects delivered within budget and timeline
• Reduction in structural design errors and site rework
• Compliance with safety standards (zero or minimal site incidents)
• Quality of construction work (measured by defect rate)
• Efficiency in resolving site issues
• Timeliness and accuracy of site reports
• Client and stakeholder satisfaction levels

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in real estate/construction
• COREN registration or NSE membership is an added advantage
• Proven experience in both structural design and site supervision

• Strong knowledge of structural design principles and construction methodologies
• Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000)
• Project management and site supervision skills
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of Nigerian building regulations and standards.
