Description

• We are seeking a competent and dependable Broadcast Engineer/Technical Officer to join our engineering department.
• The ideal candidate must have practical technical knowledge of radio studio operations, audio systems, broadcast equipment, transmission support, and basic troubleshooting. The role requires someone who can work under pressure, respond quickly to technical issues, and support smooth daily broadcast operations.
• This position is suitable for a technically minded person who is disciplined, reliable, and ready to contribute to the stable operation of a modern radio station.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain studio and broadcast equipment.
• Support live broadcast operations and ensure smooth technical delivery.
• Monitor audio quality, studio signal flow, and transmission output.
• Troubleshoot technical faults involving microphones, mixers, cables, computers, and related equipment.
• Assist in maintaining transmitters, consoles, audio processors, and studio systems.
• Support online streaming, digital broadcast tools, and basic IT/network operations.
• Carry out routine checks on studio equipment before and during programmes.
• Respond quickly to technical issues during live programmes.
• Maintain proper handling, safety, and documentation of station equipment.

Requirements

• Technical knowledge of radio, audio, studio, or broadcast equipment.
• Experience with microphones, audio mixers, cables, computers, and basic studio setup.
• Basic understanding of transmitters, signal flow, and broadcast operations is an advantage.
• Basic IT, networking, livestreaming, or computer maintenance knowledge is an added advantage.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems quickly and calmly.
• Must be disciplined, reliable, punctual, and willing to work flexible shifts.
• Previous radio, TV, studio, sound engineering, or technical operations experience is an advantage.
• Relevant technical qualification is an added advantage, but practical competence is very important.
