Our front office plays a vital role in shaping the daily experience of pupils, parents, and visitors. We are therefore seeking a highly organised, polished, and dependable Female School Receptionist to manage our reception with professionalism, warmth, and efficiency.
The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for the school community, ensuring that every interaction reflects our high standards of organisation, courtesy, and care. This role requires a proactive individual who can maintain a calm and welcoming presence within a busy school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Reception & Front Office:
Welcome pupils, parents, staff, and visitors in a warm, courteous, and professional manner
Serve as the first point of contact for all enquiries (in person, by phone, and via email)
Ensure all visitors comply with sign-in procedures in line with safeguarding requirements
Direct enquiries appropriately and provide clear, accurate information on school procedures
Maintain a calm, organised, and professional reception environment at all times
Attendance & Record Keeping:
Accurately record daily pupil attendance
Follow up on unexplained absences in accordance with school procedures
Maintain records of late arrivals and early departures
Ensure all attendance data and related records remain accurate and up to date
Administrative Support:
Provide general administrative support, including printing, photocopying, and laminating
Maintain clear and legible records where necessary
Take meeting notes and prepare well-structured minutes as needed
Prepare and submit daily front office reports
Parent & Pupil Support:
Respond to parent enquiries in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner
Provide basic support to pupils with minor concerns (e.g. lost items)
Admissions & Enquiries:
Act as the first point of contact for prospective parents
Provide clear and professional information on the school’s programmes and admissions process
Record and maintain accurate details of all enquiries (phone, email, and walk-in)
Schedule school visits and appointments as required
Liaise with relevant staff to ensure timely follow-up on all enquiries
School Calendar, Events & Community Engagement:
Support the maintenance and updating of the school’s events calendar, ensuring all key dates and activities are accurately recorded and communicated
Maintain records of pupils’ birthdays and assist in coordinating appropriate in-school acknowledgements in line with the school’s culture
Provide front office and administrative support for school events, including Open Days and Parent Information Sessions
Assist in preparing the reception area to reflect the school’s high standards during events and special occasions
Communicate upcoming events and key dates to staff and, where appropriate, to parents
Reception Environment:
Ensure notice boards are current, accurate, and professionally presented
Maintain a tidy, welcoming, and well-organised front office environment at all times
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower) in Administration, Management, Communications, or a related field
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years continuous post-NYSC experience in school administrative office, or a front-facing administrative role within a structured professional environment
Relevant sectors include:
Schools
Corporate offices
Professional service organisations
Experience limited to remote or virtual roles will not be considered.
Candidates must demonstrate experience working within structured administrative systems, record-keeping processes, and professional office standards.

Organisation & Attention to Detail: Strong ability to manage multiple responsibilities accurately
Clear Handwriting: High standard required for maintaining official records
Digital Competence: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic administrative systems
Professional Presence: Well presented, courteous, discreet, and composed at all times
Reliability & Initiative: Able to take initiative and ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Salary
N150,000 monthly.
