Job Title: Management Accountant (Senior Officer)

Location: Surulere, Lagos

Reports to: CFO
Supervises: Finance officers

Purpose of the Role

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Management Accountant to join our Finance team. The role will focus on following up on all bank transactions and reconciliations, managing receivables, and preparing financial statements, while also providing strategic insights to support business growth.

• Internally Relates with Finance Team and other Departmental Heads.
• Externally Relates with Banks, External Auditors, Govt and other Regulatory Agencies. Budgetary Responsibility Collation of Budget Heads, OPEX & CAPEX.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Preparing timely and accurate management accounts to provide valuable insights into the company’s financial performance and assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Coordinating the annual audit process by providing relevant financial information and responding to auditors’ queries professionally.
• Assisting with the signing of audited financial statements as required by auditors and company secretaries.
• Evaluate the ROI of new IT projects or marketing campaigns.
• Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights.
• Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.
• Track and analyze project costs, including software development and cloud-related expenses.
• Provide financial insights to support pricing and business strategy.
• Support pricing decisions and profitability analysis.
• Monitor operating costs and recommend efficiency improvements
• Build financial models for new products and business initiatives
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and internal controls
• Collaborate with IT and operations teams to understand cost drivers
• Support audits and statutory reporting processes
  Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies
• Identify and implement improvements in financial systems and processes
• Ensuring accurate recording and timely acknowledgement of bank inflows and outflows.
• Regularly preparing bank reconciliation statements to identify and rectify any discrepancies.
• Receivable Management.
• Weekly rendition of Receivable Reports.
• Weekly report of Ageing Analysis and follow up mails to company’s debtors.
• Maintaining well-organized and up-to-date financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Posting financial transactions to the company’s ERP system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborating with other team members to provide financial information and insights for budget preparation.
• Undertaking any other duties assigned by line managers in a timely and professional manner.

Education Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or CIMA

Experience:

• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Hands-on experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP systems
• Experience in an IT or service-based organization is an advantage
• Knowledge of project accounting and cost tracking

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics 365 preferred)
• Budgeting and forecasting expertise
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
